Spanish tactician Jose Riveiro will become the highest paid coach on the African continent if he is able to join Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly.
Riveiro has been released by South African giants Orlando Pirates as he is set for a new challenge.
The highly-rated coach led the club in the South African Cup final, losing to rivals Kaizer Chiefs before securing a commanding 3-0 win over Golden Arrows in his last match.
According to reports, Al Ahly are considering appointing Jose Riveiro as their new head coach following the sacking of Marcel Koller weeks ago.
Riveiro could become the highest-paid manager on the entire African continent if the move to AL Ahly materialize.
The Spanish gaffer is said to be eager to join Al Ahly as soon as possible and begin preparing the squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off in June.
Meanwhile, Pirates are considering several candidates for the head coach position. The club is keen on bringing in Benni McCarthy, who is currently working with the Kenyan national team.
