It’s great to hear that Ghanaian defender John Paintsil has signed a one-year contract with the option of an additional year with the Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv.

This move marks a return to his former club at Bloomfield Stadium, where he had previously played before joining the English team West Ham six years ago.

John Paintsil is now the fourth recruit for Hapoel Tel Aviv from the Israeli capital, following Tal Ben Haim, Zeev Haimovich, and Bruno Kotin.

Paintsil had been without a contract since the end of his lease with the English second division club Leicester City. With Hapoel Tel Aviv, he has the opportunity to relaunch his career and compete in the Europa League this season.

Paintsil expressed his excitement about the move, saying, “I feel very good. It’s always good to come home. Israel is like a second nation for me, and this team helped me a lot in my career a few years ago.”

He also mentioned that he had the chance to play in the English Premier League but wanted to remember his best moments and repay the trust that the club had shown in him.

He looks forward to making his debut in front of the Hapoel Tel Aviv audience, who have always supported him. It’s a significant return for Paintsil to Israeli football, where he has played for both Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi in the past.
