Algeria Coach Halilhodzic Voices Concern Despite Friendly Win
Algerian national team coach Vahid Halilhodzic expressed clear dissatisfaction with his players following their 3-1 friendly victory over Armenia. Speaking at a press conference, the Bosnian coach criticised mistakes and a lack of focus within the squad.
“I’m worried. This morning, we spent an hour and 40 minutes analyzing the mistakes made in our last matches. An hour and 40 minutes! There are still too many things that aren’t working, and I see players with their heads in the clouds. Do they realise that we’re preparing for a World Cup? Sometimes I wonder. If this doesn’t change soon, our World Cup could end sooner than expected,” Halilhodzic warned.
His blunt remarks come as a wake-up call to his team ahead of the upcoming World Cup, where Algeria is drawn in a challenging group alongside Belgium, Russia, and South Korea. The coach’s comments underline the urgency for improvement as the tournament approaches.
