Dame Ndoye, the striker for the Lions of Senegal, expresses caution regarding the Angolan team, particularly their star striker Manucho. Having played with Manucho at Academica Coimbra in Portugal during the 2006-2007 season, Ndoye acknowledges Manucho’s danger in the penalty area but believes that the Senegalese defenders are strong enough to neutralize him.
“He is a very dangerous player in the penalty area. He reads the game well and doesn’t often miss well-placed balls on his head. We evolved together at Academica, and we must respect him,” said Dame Ndoye.
Despite Senegal’s current status, Ndoye emphasizes that the team remains formidable and possesses individuals at all levels capable of winning against any opponent. He asserts that Senegal cannot afford any mistakes in the upcoming match against Angola, emphasizing the importance of securing a victory to maintain their leadership in Group J. According to Ndoye, the team should approach the match with the mindset of securing three points, acting as if they were playing in Dakar, even though it is an away game
