FC Les Aigles du Congo claimed a vital 1-0 win over Maniema Union to seize control of the DRC Ligue 1 play-offs, marking a third consecutive triumph against a direct rival and catapulting the Kinshasa-based club to the summit of the standings.

The decisive moment came at the Tata Raphaël Stadium, where Kikwamba Mujinga’s second-half strike secured all three points.

Having already defeated powerhouses Mazembe and Vita Club, Les Aigles’ latest success brings them to 15 points from six matches—one game fewer than their closest challengers—and positions them as serious contenders for the national title at the halfway stage.

In another statement victory, AS Vita Club cruised past AS Simba Kolwezi 3-0 at Stade des Martyrs.

Goals from Ogoulola (23’), Beyuku (37’), and Djambae (90’) ensured a dominant display from the Muscovites, who now sit on 10 points with a game in hand.

The convincing performance sets up a highly anticipated derby clash with DCMP.

Meanwhile, FC Lupopo maintained their title push with a composed 2-0 victory over AC Rangers.

Under the guidance of Luc Eymael, the Lubumbashi side relied on a clinical brace from Horso Mwaku—known to fans as “Terminator”—to collect 12 points from five matches, still holding two games in hand that could prove decisive in the coming weeks.

CS Don Bosco produced the weekend’s most prolific attacking display, overwhelming FC Tanganyika 5-2 in Kalemie.

Don Bosco’s goal glut sees them level on points at the top with Les Aigles, though they have played one match more—an advantage that may prove costly in a closely contested run-in.

At the other end of the form table, TP Mazembe’s struggles continued.

Their failure to gain momentum has left them with just nine points from six games, as they drift further from podium contention.

Similarly, Maniema Union’s defeat to Les Aigles leaves them on 15 points from seven matches, their campaign now under pressure with a tougher schedule looming.
