Newcastle coach Alan Pardew expressed his strong disapproval of the aggressive tackle by Wigan player Callum McManaman on right-back Massadio Haïdara during their Premier League match on Sunday. Haïdara, a young French defender, was violently tackled by McManaman, but the Wigan midfielder did not receive a card for the challenge. Pardew criticized the tackle, describing it as “almost injustice” and expressed concern for Haïdara, who was taken to the hospital. As of now, the seriousness of Haïdara’s injury has not been officially communicated by the club.
