French international Nicolas Anelka, who signed with Juventus during the last winter transfer window, is facing disappointment due to his limited playing time with the Italian club. Anelka, who expressed pride in joining Juventus, has played only two matches in Serie A and is struggling to secure a regular spot in the team.
Juventus Sporting Director Beppe Marotta indicated that Anelka’s signing was a temporary measure to bolster the squad, particularly with the injury to Nicklas Bendtner. Marotta mentioned that Anelka arrived on a free transfer, and the decision to bring him in was influenced by the need to strengthen the offensive sector in anticipation of potential injuries. Marotta emphasized that the move was relevant for the short term and was linked to the economic situation.
Despite his challenges at Juventus, Nicolas Anelka boasts a successful career, having won titles with the French national team, including the European Under-19 Championship in 1996, the UEFA Euro 2000, and the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2001.
