Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly are on the verge of securing the services of Algeria international Zineddine Belaïd ahead of the summer transfer window.
Al Ahly are seeking to augment their squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup and the new season at large. However, the club has identified Zineddine Belaïd, who currently plies his trade in Belgium for Saint-Trond as the perfect player to solidify their defense line.
The highly-rated defender’s move to the Egyptian club is 80 percent through, having previously expressed desire to feature for Al Ahly.
“We have contacted Zineddine Belaïd, and he confirmed his wish to join. We haven’t yet spoken to his club.” A close source discloses.
Al Ahly sees the former USM Alger captain as a cornerstone of the club’s Club World Cup ambitions.
He is expected to become the fifth signing for the club following the arrival of Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet”, Ahmed Sayed “Zizo”, Hamdi Fathi (on loan), and Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan
The 24-year-old Algerian could bring much-needed solidity to the backline as Al Ahly prepares to face elite global clubs in 2025.
The Algerian club has 15 appearances this season for Zineddine Belaïd.
