Real Madrid are still interested in a move to sign France-born defender of Angola descent, Castello Lukeba.
Despite the club’s strong interest, they are yet to decide on making a move in the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to sources, this is because the club does not want to pay the €50 million price tag on the French defender.
Real Madrid will reportedly make contact with RB Leipzig for the defender but won’t pay the amount if the club still insists on it.
The Spanish La Liga outfit has been keeping tabs on Castello Lukeba for a while and believes he has quality that will strengthen the team for the next football season and beyond.
Besides Castello Lukeba, Real Madrid have also been linked with some other defenders including Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konate and Arsenal’s William Saliba.
The club continues to weigh their options and will make a move for any of these defenders in the summer window.
The club believes after a season where they could not fight for trophies, it is important to reinforce the squad of the team for next season.
