Cameroonian youngster Aurther Avom has emerged as a huge transfer for Premeir League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old has been hugely impressive for Lorient, who are close to securing promotion to the French Ligue 1. Avom has been almost ever-present for the current leaders of the French second tier, notching a pair of goals and five assists.
According to reports in England, Chelsea, Brighton and West Ham United are keen to battle for the signature of the enterprising midfielder in the summer.
Brighton, in particular, look poised to strike a deal, but the report states that Chelsea could look to ‘hijack’ their move for Avom, who is still under contract in France until 2026 with the option for a further year.
Avom is said to be interested in a move to the Premier League, with Brighton currently ‘best-placed’ to sign him in the upcoming transfer window.
He joined Lorient in the summer in summer 2024 and has since established himself as a key member of the team. However, Avom could be on the move after just two years following recent interest.
Avom has already made two appearances for the Cameroon national team, earning both caps at the 2023 AFCON held in Ivory Coast last year.
