Salah becomes tenth African to win at least two Premier League titles

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has secured his second Premier League title with Liverpool in the 2024-2025 season, further cementing his legacy as one of the Premier League’s top players.

Salah, who played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s successful campaign, scored 28 goals, leading the team to reclaim the coveted title.

With this triumph, Salah joins an exclusive group of African players who have won the Premier League title at least twice.

According to Squawka, the 32-year-old forward became the 10th African player to achieve this milestone.

He now shares this honor with notable players such as Nigerian Nwankwo Kanu, Ivorian Kolo Touré, Cameroonian Jérémy Ngitap, Ghanaian Michael Essien, and fellow Cameroonian Laurent, as well as Nigerian John Obi Mikel.

Despite this impressive feat, Salah’s tally of two Premier League titles is still behind a few of his peers.

Algerian Riyad Mahrez has won the title five times, while Ivorians Didier Drogba (4) and Yaya Touré (3) have also claimed more titles than Salah.

However, this achievement further highlights Salah’s consistency and importance to Liverpool’s success in English football.

Salah’s first Premier League title came in 2020 when Liverpool triumphed during a season disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now, with his second title, Salah continues to build on his reputation as one of the greatest African players to ever grace the Premier League, and he remains a crucial figure in Liverpool’s ongoing pursuit of domestic and international glory.
