Paris Saint-Germain has drawn FC Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The draw, held at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, pits PSG against the Spanish giants in a challenging matchup.
Leonardo, the sports director of PSG, expressed some uneasiness about the draw but acknowledged that the team has nothing to lose against the favored Barcelona. PSG and Barcelona had already met earlier in the season during the Paris Trophy, a gala friendly match, where Barcelona won 2-2 (4-1 on penalties).
The first leg of the quarter-final is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, or Wednesday, April 3, with the return match taking place the following week on Tuesday, April 9, or Wednesday, April 10.
The last time PSG reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League was in the 1994-1995 season, where they faced and eliminated FC Barcelona before being knocked out by AC Milan in the semi-finals.
The other quarter-final matchups are Juventus vs. Bayern Munich, Málaga FC vs. Borussia Dortmund, and Real Madrid vs. Galatasaray.
