Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has charged Premier League giants Arsenal to renew the contract of midfielder Thomas Partey following an outstanding performance for the club this season.
Partey, who joined the Gunners in summer 2020 from Atletico Madrid has just two months left on his current deal but the North London club are yet to hand him a new contract.
The Black Stars midfielder has garnered interest from several top clubs in Europe including Barcelona and former club Atletico Madrid, as he faces an uncertain future at Arsenal.
However, Gyan, who had stint in England before retirement has called on Arsenal to offer the Ghana international a new deal after a standout performance this season.
“At the moment, Partey is one of the best midfielders in the world, there is no doubts about that. He has an impressive statistics at Arsenal this season. Compare the winning percentage of Arsenal anytime he starts. He is a huge figure when it comes to Arsenal so all that I will say is, they should give him a contract” he said.
Partey has been in terrific form for Arsenal this season, making 47 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners, but will miss the crucial semi-final first leg clash against Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League.
