RS Berkane boss Mouin Chaabani delivered one of the most dominant performances of his tenure as his side crushed CS Constantine 4-0 in the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final first leg.
The Tunisian tactician was quick to credit his players’ discipline and sharpness, but even he admitted the margin of victory was beyond his expectations.
Chaabani’s men struck early in the game, taking control and throwing the Algerian hosts off balance. Their aggressive yet measured approach paid off, punishing Constantine’s defensive lapses with clinical finishing. Berkane’s intensity never dropped, and the result leaves the Moroccan side in a commanding position heading into the return leg.
“We beat the Algerian team thanks to being realistic, respecting the opponent and being very focused,” Chaabani said at the post-match press conference.
“I did not expect to win this result against CS Constantine… we succeeded in exploiting the chances,” he added.
Despite the emphatic scoreline, Chaabani stressed the job is not done, stating that Berkane’s ambition remains to fight for trophies on all fronts.
