Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana is hoping to inspire more players plying their trade in the South African league to Romania.
The South African international has been playing in Romania since 2023, featuring for FCSB (Steaua București). Ngezana has settled in well in the European country, establishing himself as a key member of the team.
Ngezana, who has played matches this season against the likes of Manchester United, stated that the Romanian championship is a good springboard for a further European career, and South Africa has a wealth of talent that could thrive here.
“I hope I inspire players in our league to seek opportunities in Romania and other European countries. As I said, I hope that being here in Romania will inspire players from South Africa to come here as well.
There is so much talent in South Africa, and I know that players can achieve great success in this league. Therefore, I hope that other players will have the courage to come here and showcase their talent, which will open more doors for many other players to play in Europe,” said Ngezana in an interview with FARPost.
The 27-year-old has made 38 appearances across competitions for the Romanian outfit this season.
