West Ham United’s head coach Graham Potter has provided an update on Michail Antonio’s health condition following a horrific accident last year.
Antonio suffered the accident shortly with Ferrari after visiting his Samba Stars Academy in Ghana back in November 2024.
The 34-year-old spent over three weeks in the hospital after shattering his femur in four places after his vehicle crash into a tree in December. His last appearance for West Ham United
“He is progressing step by step. Right now, he is far from us, just training. But he should be back soon.
We are pleased with how he feels. We support him, and everything is going well,” Potter stated.
At the same time, the coach refused to comment on the possible contract extension for Antonio, stating that this matter will be resolved directly between the club and the player.
Michail Antonio has been playing for West Ham since 2015, when he joined the club from Nottingham Forest.
His contract with the Hammers expires at the end of the current season, but the club has yet to announce whether they will continue their relationship with the player.
He made 15 appearances, scoring one goal and delivering an assists across competitions before the unfortunate accident.
