Senegal government has to doubled the bonuses awarded to players for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
As preparations intensify and Aliou Cissé, the coach of Senegal, finalizes his list of selected players for AFCON 2023, the Senegalese government’s decision to amplify the bonuses reflects a commitment to elevate the team’s morale and performance.
According to local press reports, each player will now receive a participation bonus of 8 million FCFA at the conclusion of the tournament—twice the amount offered during the previous edition held in Cameroon.
With a total of 27 players, the cumulative bonus stands at an impressive 216 million CFA francs.
The generosity extends beyond financial incentives. For the forthcoming tournament in Ivory Coast, each player from the Lions of Teranga will enjoy the luxury of having an individual room—a departure from the arrangements in the previous AFCON hosted in Cameroon.
The Senegalese delegation has secured 60 rooms at the President Hotel in Yamoussoukro, underscoring the commitment to providing optimal conditions for the team.
In an additional demonstration of support for the Lions of Teranga, the Senegalese government is covering the travel costs for 350 supporters, ensuring a vibrant and enthusiastic representation of the 12th Gaindé, Allez Casa, and Lébougi fan groups.
These efforts collectively contribute to fostering an environment conducive to the team’s success, as Senegal aims to defend its title as the reigning African champion.
With these strategic initiatives in place, Senegal appears poised to enter AFCON 2023 with heightened motivation, unity, and the support needed to pursue championship glory.
