South African outfit AmaZulu have terminated the contract of highly rated midfielder Selaimpilo Ngema.
The 27-year-old South African player was accused of alcoholism, leading to the termination of his contract at the club. Ngema faced disciplinary action after showing up to AmaZulu training under the influence of alcohol.
Ngema was found guilty after appearing before the disciplinary committee of the club. However, AmaZulu opted to terminate his deal despite having an existing contract.
The 27-year-old midfielder played 45 matches for AmaZulu, scoring two goals and providing four assists since joining the club. This season, he has managed 14 appearances in the South African top-flight, serving an assist in the process.
Ngema joined AmaZulu FC in 2023 and established himself as a key member of the squad following his outstanding performance.
