Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman informs Atalanta of exit plan as big clubs circle

Gasperini Lookman

Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman is reportedly preparing to leave the Serie A club at the end of the season, with several top European teams expressing interest in securing his services.

The Nigerian international has enjoyed a standout campaign, recording 18 goals and seven assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.

According to reports, Lookman has informed Atalanta’s management of his intention to depart this summer.

The club and player had previously agreed to allow Lookman to decide his future at the season’s conclusion.

With his performances attracting attention, clubs such as Barcelona and Newcastle United are reportedly monitoring his situation.

Lookman’s current contract with Atalanta runs until June 2026, and his market value is estimated at €40 million.

His potential departure would mark the end of a successful tenure with the Bergamo-based club, where he has been a key figure in their recent achievements.

He notched a hat-trick to see Atalanta beat Bayer Leverkusen and win the Europa League last season, a first major title in over 60 years.
