Pyramids FC secured the third-place position in the Egyptian Super Cup, claiming victory over Ceramica Cleopatra in a thrilling penalty shootout.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw at the conclusion of regular time at the Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium.

Algerian forward Ahmed Gandoosi opened the scoring for Ceramica Cleopatra in the 70th minute of the match.

However, Mustafa Fathi equalized for Pyramids in the 78th minute with a splendid goal, showcasing the team’s determination.

The game witnessed a golden opportunity to score in the 66th minute when a mistake from Pyramids’ goalkeeper Ahmed Mehoub and the team’s defender presented the ball to Ahmed Yasser Ryan.

Finding himself alone in front of the unguarded goalpost, Ryan, unfortunately, struck the ball against the crossbar in an unusual turn of events.

The encounter showcased the competitive spirit of both teams, with moments of skill and missed opportunities keeping the spectators on the edge of their seats.

The skillful play demonstrated by Mustafa Fathi in securing the equalizer underscored the talent and determination within the Pyramids squad.

The penalty shootout that followed added to the drama, ultimately favoring Pyramids FC.

The victory in the Egyptian Super Cup not only earns Pyramids the bronze medal but also serves as a testament to the team’s resilience and ability to perform under pressure.

The Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium bore witness to a memorable match that showcased the excitement and unpredictability of football, with Pyramids FC emerging as the deserving third-place finishers in the Egyptian Super Cup.
