Al Ahly gears up for Pyramids showdown with bold squad choices

Al Ahly is sharpening its focus for a crucial clash against Pyramids FC, aiming to close the gap at the top of the Egyptian Premier League.

The Red Devils finalized their preparations at the Air Defense Stadium, but head coach Marcel Koller made waves by leaving out several key names from the squad for Saturday’s high-stakes match.

Swiss coach Marcel Koller, the team’s coach, brought to the camp a list consisting of:

Goalkeepers: Mohamed El-Shenawy, Mostafa Shobeir, Hamza Alaa

Defense: Mohamed Hany, Ashraf Dari, Rami Rabia, Yasser Ibrahim, Yahya Attiyat Allah, Karim El-Dubis

Midfield: Marawan Attia, Ahmed Reda, Akram Tawfik, Amr El-Sulaya, Imam Ashour, Taher Mohamed Taher, Mohamed Magdy Afsha

Attack: Hussein El-Shahat, Ashraf Ben Sharqi, Mohamed Abdullah, Wessam Abu Ali, Gradishar

The list witnessed the exclusion of Khaled Abdel-Fattah, Karim Nedved, Mohamed Samir, Mostafa Makhlouf, Omar Kamal Abdel-Wahed, Mostafa El-Ash, and Ali Maaloul for technical reasons. Pyramids occupy the top of the standings with 43 points, while Al-Ahly comes in second place with 39 points.
