Amine Gouiri sparks debate by naming Riyad Mahrez the greatest Algerian footballer

Algeria international Amine Gouiri has returned to full fitness ahead of Olympique Marseille’s clash against AS Monaco in the French Ligue 1 this weekend.

Gouiri could not feature for Marseille last week against Toulouse after suffering a minor hamstring injury. In his absence, Marseille managed to snatch victory over their opponent to merit maximum points.

The talented forward returned to group training this week and is expected to feature against Monaco on Saturday.

Giving an update on Gouiri and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi said, “Gouiri can play some of the match, but I haven’t decided yet whether he starts or he comes off on the bench, the same goes for Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.”

The 25-year-old attacker’ return is a huge boost for Marseille as the team gear up for the crunch clash with Monaco.

He has been impressive for the club this season, scoring seven goals and providing five assists from 27 appearances in the Serie A.
