Turkish media reports have disclosed that Egyptian national team midfielder and Arsenal’s first-team player, Mohamed Elneny, is once again a sought-after talent in their league, four years after his departure from Besiktas.
Besiktas had signed Mohamed Elneny in 2019, but he departed after the end of his loan period, returning to Arsenal.
According to the Turkish network “Ajansspor,” Trabzonspor, which boasts the presence of Egyptian winger Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet,” is contemplating the acquisition of Elneny.
Trabzonspor’s current coach is the former Besiktas coach, Abdullah Avci, who is well acquainted with Elneny’s capabilities as he had previously coached him during the loan period with the Eagles.
Avci had expressed a desire for Elneny to continue with Besiktas, stating so in multiple press conferences.
However, he returned to Arsenal after the club’s decision not to activate the purchase clause at that time.
Trabzonspor aims to strengthen its squad in the second half of the season, currently occupying the third position with 30 points, trailing the leader Fenerbahce by 14 points.
Mohamed Elneny’s contract with Arsenal concludes at the end of the current season, and Trabzonspor seeks to capitalize on this opportunity to persuade the English club to let the player leave.
The management of Trabzonspor promptly proposed Mohamed Elneny’s name to the coach, who agreed immediately to reinforce the team in January.
