Al Hilal coach Florent Ibenge says his outfit will do everything possible to secure qualification to the semifinals of the CAF Champions League.
The Sudanese giants will play host to the Egyptian powerhouse in the second leg of the quarterfinals on Tuesday night in Mauritania, as both teams battle for a place in the semifinals.
The first leg clash held at the Cairo International stadium ended 1-0 in favour of Al Ahly. However, Al Hilal must overturn the scoreline to book a place in the semifinals.
And speaking ahead of the game, Ibenge, who is a Congolese trainer insists the side will do everything possible to snatch qualification at the expense of Al Ahly.
“Everyone did their part, and we will do everything we can to secure qualification to the semi-finals, because we are working towards that and have confidence in our players,” Ibenge said in statements via Al Hilal’s official account.
“We know the difficulty of the match, given that the first leg result was in Al-Ahly’s favor, a result that gives them the advantage to maintain and play on counterattacks.”
“We must play offensively to score, but without leaving spaces behind us that our opponents cannot exploit. This is difficult, especially against a team as big as Al Ahly, whose players’ capabilities in the front line we know and appreciate.”
The Al Hilal coach concluded: “In a match like this, we must be patient and work to score as early as possible because we need goals. That’s why we need all the support from our fans everywhere, and all the prayers that we can achieve what we want and win the match.”
