Arsenal are set to back Andrea Berta, their new sporting director, with a substantial £200m budget to secure three high-profile signings this summer.

According to The Sun, Berta’s main focus will be on strengthening key areas of the team, with plans to bring in Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, and Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao.

The club is particularly keen on securing Zubimendi, the La Real captain, with a £50m offer, though Gyokeres and Williams are also top targets.

Nico Williams, who has Ghanaian roots, is a priority for the Gunners, who are ready to meet his £40m release clause.

The 22-year-old winger has not flourished this season like he did last season.

In all competitions, Williams has played 39 matches, scoring 7 goals and providing 5 assists.

The £200m war chest will be used not only for securing these attacking players but also for bolstering Arsenal’s squad depth, with a new goalkeeper on the cards to replace the on-loan Neto, who will return to parent club Bournemouth.

Berta is currently in discussions with the club’s board to ensure funding for all three of these major deals, and there is growing confidence that the necessary agreements will be made.

This summer window presents a crucial opportunity for Arsenal to strengthen their squad as they aim to challenge for the top titles.
