Mohamed Salah disappointed with Liverpool’s UCL exit, failure to win Carabao Cup – Arne Slot

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has disclosed that Mohamed Salah was very disappointed last month when the team lost to Newcastle United in the final of the Carabao Cup.

According to the manager, the Egyptian is also upset that Liverpool could not advance to the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League.

“Of course, he [Salah] is disappointed with us not winning the final.

“[He’s upset about] not going through in Europe [Champions League]. That is why he scores so many goals, because he wants it so much.

“So, yes, there were probably periods this season he smiled a bit more but that’s not just him, that’s for Virgil [Van Dijk], that’s for all the players,” Arne Slot said in an interview.

Despite the disappointments, Mohamed Salah is keen on leading Liverpool to clinch the 2024/25 English Premier League title.

He has scored 27 goals and provided 17 assists after making 31 appearances in the English Premier League.
