Arsenal sporting director holds talks with Nico Williams’ camp ahead of summer transfer window
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has reportedly met with representatives of Nico Williams as the Gunners look to secure the Athletic Bilbao winger ahead of the summer transfer window.
Since taking on his role, Berta has wasted no time in pursuing key targets, with Williams emerging as a priority signing.
The 22-year-old Spanish international of Ghanaian heritage was previously linked with Barcelona last summer, while Paris Saint-Germain also showed interest as they sought to bolster their attack following Kylian Mbappé’s departure.
Williams has impressed this season, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists in 37 appearances across all competitions for Athletic Bilbao.
Despite Arsenal’s interest, the Spanish international remains on the radar of several top clubs, with Barcelona still keen and Bayern Munich now entering the race for his signature.
