ESG Gafsa, a Tunisian D1 football club, officially withdrew from the Championship as a protest against alleged “arbitration injustices.” The decision came after a controversial incident in which ESG Gafsa claimed a wrongfully denied goal during a match against Hammam-Lif. The club accused Hammam-Lif of exerting political pressure, raising concerns about political interference in Tunisian sports. The vice-president of ESG Gafsa, Khaled Bennour, stated that they have informed the Minister of Sport and the president of the Tunisian Sports Federation about their decision. Another club, Olympique de Béja, also threatened to withdraw for similar reasons.
