Olympiakos secured its 40th Greek championship title with a victory over AEK Athens (3-0) on the 25th day of the competition. With 21 wins, three draws, and just one defeat, Olympiakos has a comfortable 16-point lead over Asteras Tripolis, ensuring that nothing can change its position even if it loses the remaining five matches. Algerian player Djamel Abdoun contributed to the celebration by scoring the third goal in the match, following the double from Greek international Avraam Papadopoulos. Despite facing difficulties related to the financial crisis in January, Olympiakos managed to clinch the championship.
