Former South Africa international Own Da Gama has backed Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng for European adventure following an impressive campaign.
Mofokeng has been outstanding for the South African outfit this season, earning him a debut call up to the national team. The 19-year-old demonstrated high level of play for the Bafana Bafana during the March international break, scoring to help the side snatch a 2-0 win over Lesotho.
His technique, field vision, and ability to make quick decisions set him apart from other players and make him a promising candidate for top clubs.
However, Own Da Gama, who is currently the head coach of fellow South Africa club Magesi FC believes the enterprising midfielder has the potential to compete in Europe’s top leagues.
Despite the obvious potential, there have been no official offers from foreign teams yet. However, experts are confident that interest in him will only grow, especially if he continues to perform consistently for Orlando Pirates and the national team.
Meanwhile, Mofokeng is focused on his current career, and his club is counting on his further development.
Orlando Pirates’ management does not rule out that in the future, Mofokeng will indeed get a chance to prove himself in one of Europe’s leading leagues.
