Zimbabwean winger Tawanda Chirewa has expressed his readiness for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Nigeria.
The attacker is likely to start for the Warriors in their Round 6 match in Group B in the qualifiers next week.
Speaking ahead of the match, Tawanda Chirewa noted that the Zimbabwe national team is not scared of Nigeria although they are aware of the many quality players in the Super Eagles team.
“I am just looking at recovery and going again on Tuesday against Nigeria, which is a very good team,” the Zimbabwean winger said in an interview with The Standard.
The forward continued, “A lot of players play in England and Europe. Obviously, I want to go out there and show what I can do.
“Our team has got so many good players as well so we can’t fear Nigeria.”
Tawanda Chirewa was in action for Zimbabwe last Thursday when the Warriors drew 2-2 with Benin in Round 5 of the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The next game in the qualifiers against Nigeria is scheduled to be played on Tuesday, March 25.
