FIFA President Gianni Infantino has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Moroccan side for securing a spot in the upcoming 2025 edition of the Club World Cup.
The acknowledgment comes as a result of Wydad Casablanca’s triumphant victory in the 2022 CAF Champions League, which grants them an automatic qualification for the esteemed international competition.
The eagerly anticipated 2025 Club World Cup, orchestrated under the auspices of FIFA, is scheduled to unfold in the United States, treating football enthusiasts to a spectacle spanning from June 15 to July 13, 2025.
This edition is poised to feature a noteworthy expansion, accommodating 32 participating teams.
The distribution comprises 12 teams from Europe, 6 from South America, 4 from North, Central America, and the Caribbean, 4 from Africa, 4 from Asia, 1 from Oceania, and 1 from the host country.
A significant departure from the current annual format, the revamped Club World Cup will adopt a quadrennial rhythm, a strategic shift designed to enhance the scale and competitiveness of the tournament.
