Premier League outfit Manchester United has expressed keen interest in France-born Cameroonian Hugo Ekitike ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old has become a transfer target for several top clubs in Europe due to his outstanding performance for Frankfurt this season.
Ekitike has rediscovered his form at Frankfurt following a difficult spell with Paris Saint Germain. He joined the Bundesliga club, initially on loan before making the move permanent last summer for just over €16m.
In his first full season, the French-Cameroonian striker has excelled, scoring 18 goals in 34 appearances across competitions.
However, Frankfurt are said to be ready to cash in on the enterprising Cameroonian forward, who have garnered interest from clubs.
Ekitike is likely to leave this summer, just one year after making his move to Frankfurt permanent.
Manchester United, who have struggled domestically this season, are in the market for a centre-forward this summer and have identified Ekitiké as a target.
Ekitike is one of four targets for Manchester United, heading into the summer window.
Aside Ekitike, Manchester United are said to be interested in RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Sporting’s Viktor Gyökerers and Victor Osimhen, who is loan at Galatasaray from Napoli.
