Sevilla eye Moroccan striker Hamza Igamane as potential En-Nesyri successor

Marseille target Moroccan striker Hamza Igamane in summer transfer plans

Sevilla are reportedly considering a move for Hamza Igamane, the Moroccan forward currently playing for Glasgow Rangers, as they look to strengthen their attacking options following the departure of Youssef En-Nesyri to Fenerbahçe.

The La Liga side has a strong track record of Moroccan talent, having previously benefited from the contributions of En-Nesyri and Yassine Bounou, both of whom played crucial roles in Sevilla’s recent European success.

Now, the club is closely monitoring Igamane, who has impressed in Scotland with his goal-scoring ability and versatility in attack.

Igamane’s rapid rise at Rangers

Since joining Rangers from AS FAR Rabat last summer, Igamane has quickly adapted to European football, delivering 13 goals and 3 assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.

The 22-year-old has been particularly effective in the Europa League, scoring four goals in seven matches, demonstrating his ability to perform on a bigger stage.

His style of play, combining pace, strength, and technical ability, has made him a standout performer in Scotland, attracting interest from clubs in more competitive leagues, including Spain and England.

Sevilla’s interest gathers momentum

According to Africa Foot, Sevilla have been closely tracking Igamane’s progress, with sporting director Victor Orta reportedly keen on securing the young forward’s services.

His affordable market value of €2.5 million, coupled with his potential for further development, makes him an appealing option for the Andalusian club, who are looking to reinforce their attacking department.

Capable of playing as a central striker or on the wings, Igamane’s versatility fits well with Sevilla’s tactical needs as they seek to rebuild and compete for European qualification in La Liga.

A logical next step?

Igamane is under contract with Rangers until June 2029, meaning Sevilla would need to negotiate a transfer fee with the Scottish club.

However, reports suggest the Moroccan international would welcome a move to a more competitive league if the opportunity arises.

His former coach, Philippe Clément, who was recently sacked by Rangers, had already hinted at growing interest in the striker.

“His performances are already attracting clubs in more competitive championships. It would be a logical step for him if he continues on this path,” Clément stated before his departure.

Premier League clubs also in the race

While Sevilla remain frontrunners in the race for Igamane, reports indicate that Premier League clubs are also monitoring his situation.

Given his rapid development and European experience, he could become one of the most sought-after young strikers in the next transfer window.

Sevilla must now decide whether to formalize their interest and make a move for the Moroccan forward, who could follow in the footsteps of his compatriots in Andalusia.
