Algeria international Amine Gouiri has been named as the French Ligue 1 Player of the Month for February following his outstanding display.
The France-born Algerian attacker, who plies his trade for Olympique Marseille beat off competition from of Paris Saint-Germain duo Ousmane Dembélé and Achraf Hakimi to win the prestigious award.
Gouiri pulled the highest number of votes to secure the award at the expense of other competitors
The 25-year-old Algerian has made a good impression since making switching from Stade Rennes in the January transfer window.
In February, Gouiri netted a brace against AS Saint-Étienne and also registered three assists in that time. Dembélé finished second in the ranking, whereas his African compatriot Achraf Hakimi placed third.
Between Rennes and current club Marseille, Amine Gouiri has netted six goals and provided five assists from 25 matches in the Ligue 1.
His is expected to be included in the Algeria squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches.
Since switching allegiance to Algeria in 2023, Amine Gouiri has racked up five goals from 12 matches.
