In a surprising turn of events, Egypt was defeated by Qatar with a score of 3-1 in a friendly preparation match for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers held in Doha. Egypt initially took the lead with a goal from Rabia in the 3rd minute, but Qatar managed to turn the match around with goals from Hassan (29th), Abdulmajid (54th), and Yousef Ahmad (90th).
