Andre Onana determined to prove his worth at Manchester United
Andre Onana is not backing down from his Manchester United challenge, despite a turbulent season under manager Ruben Amorim.
The 28-year-old Cameroonian goalkeeper has come under heavy scrutiny for costly mistakes, including his role in Jaden Philogene’s opener for Ipswich Town last week. He has also been at fault for goals in defeats to Nottingham Forest, Wolves, and Brighton, adding to fans’ frustrations over his inconsistency.
Onana joined United from Inter Milan in a £47.2 million deal in July 2023, arriving with high expectations under former boss Erik ten Hag. However, his struggles this season have led to speculation over his future, with Amorim reportedly considering signing a new goalkeeper in the summer.
Despite the pressure, Manchester Evening News reports that Onana is determined to remain at Old Trafford and fight for his place. With his starting spot on the line, the Cameroonian shot-stopper will need to prove his worth as the season nears its conclusion.
According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is 35,000,000 euros.
