Tunisia vs Malawi World Cup qualifier rescheduled to 21:00 GMT

Tunisia vs Malawi World Cup qualifier rescheduled to 21:00 GMT

FIFA has approved a request from the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) to delay the kick-off of Tunisia’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Malawi by two hours.

Initially scheduled for 19:00 GMT, the match will now begin at 21:00 GMT on Tuesday, March 25.

The decision was made to accommodate the timing of Iftar, the meal that marks the end of daily fasting during Ramadan.

Tunisia aiming to strengthen Group H lead

Tunisia currently leads Group H in the qualifiers with 10 points, holding a two-point advantage over second-placed Namibia.

Before facing Malawi, the Eagles of Carthage will host Liberia on Wednesday, March 19, in another crucial fixture.

A strong performance in these two home matches could further solidify their position at the top of the group.

FTF considering free entry for fans

The FTF is also exploring the possibility of allowing free entry for supporters at the Olympique de Radès Stadium.

Attendance at Tunisia’s home matches has often been modest, and officials hope that an open-door policy will encourage a larger turnout to back the national team.

With World Cup qualification at stake, Tunisia will be aiming to capitalize on home advantage in both upcoming fixtures as they continue their push for a place in the 2026 tournament.
