Fath Rabat head coach Said Chiba has acknowledged the challenge of facing Wydad Casablanca, emphasizing that encounters between the two teams are always thrilling and competitive.
The two sides are set to clash in the Round of 16 of the Moroccan Throne Cup, followed by another meeting next Monday in the Moroccan League.
In an interview with Al-Riyadiyah, Chiba shared his thoughts on the upcoming matches:
“The two teams’ matches have always been a platform to watch a fight full of excitement and quality in performance, with many complications, of course.”
He further praised Wydad’s progress, saying:
“Wydad is currently developing and growing, and Fath is on a good track, not to say it is perfect, and this leads us to expect a high-quality and rhythmic match between the two teams, and I hope that my team will be the lucky one in it,” he added.
Regarding the Throne Cup fixture, Chiba acknowledged its unpredictable nature:
“As for the Throne Cup match, as everyone knows, it is open to all possibilities because it is a competition with its traditions and we are always accustomed to surprises.”
He stressed the importance of focusing on one match at a time:
“We have to finish the league match first and then think about the Throne Cup. The two clubs have the same obsession and ambition, which is to win, and this makes the match very exciting,” he added.
Currently, Wydad sits second in the league with 41 points, just two points ahead of fourth-placed Fath Rabat.
