Kaizer Chiefs manager Nasreddine Nabi has provided an injury update on forward Tashreeq Morris following a setback at the weekend.
The 30-year-old forward, who joined Kaizer Chiefs in the winter transfer window succumbed to an injury in the 1-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in the South African top-flight.
Morris’ early departure from the match affected the Soweto giants’ set-up as Lucas Ribeiro’s lone strike in the first half settled the result of the tie. The defeat saw Kaizer Chiefs move down to eighth on the log after 19 matches played this season.
The enterprising forward was forced off with an injury after just 26 minutes into the match. He was replaced by Ashley Du Preez.
He is expected to miss his outfit clash against Magesi FC in the Premier League on Wednesday.
“He’s out maybe six, seven days, I would say that it hurt us a lot because it’s a striker that can give you a lot of things. He’s a good presser, He doesn’t give a lot of rest to the defenders. But after, when he came out, we saw that even the centre-backs were a little bit comfortable with the ball all the time”
“He’s as well in a nine classic that can give you, when you need you can play on him, he’s going to hold the ball, he gives your team the time to push forward and take up attacking positions” he told iDiskiTimes.
