Serhou Guirassy has been in sensational form for Borussia Dortmund, leading the Champions League goal-scoring charts and making a strong case for a Ballon d’Or nomination.
His impact on the field is undeniable, but off the pitch, he remains somewhat of an enigma within the squad.
Despite his relatively short time at the club, head coach Niko Kovac has already recognized Guirassy’s importance. “Serhou is a very important player for us. He has made a great development. Every player needs time. He is very important for us, not just because he does the goals. We can rely on him,” Kovac said.
While his performances speak volumes, his interactions with teammates are far more reserved. “He is quiet away from the square, he doesn’t talk that much. He speaks more to his family,” said teammate Karim Adeyemi.
On the pitch, however, the chemistry is undeniable. “The connection is very good on the field. I like to play with him, he can hold the balls well and score goals. My job is to support him. We are happy to have a striker like him,” Adeyemi added.
