Senegalese forward Mamadou Billo Diop has signed his first professional contract with Colorado Rapids 2 for the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season.
The 18-year-old, originally from Boune in Dakar, came through the ranks at Sahel Atlantic Football Club before continuing his development at DME Academy in Florida.
His performances have caught the eye of the American side, who view him as a promising addition to their attacking options.
Club’s Enthusiasm
Brian Crookham, Director of Player Personnel, expressed his excitement over the young striker’s potential.
“Billo is an exciting young player who brings both energy and quality to the final third.
He has the ability to threaten the opposition line with good movement and we believe he will be able to finish off plays. He is also able to bring his teammates into play and is very involved defensively.”
Bright Future
Diop’s signing marks a significant step in his career as he embarks on his journey in professional football.
His blend of attacking prowess and defensive work rate will offer valuable depth to the Rapids’ squad in North America’s third tier.
With an opportunity to showcase his talent on the MLS NEXT Pro stage, Diop will be aiming to make a lasting impression in his debut season.
