Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi is not giving up on the South African Premier League title challenge this season.
The Buccaneers are 18 points behind log leaders Sundowns following recent 2-0 defeat to Marumo Gallants in the top-flight.
With 4 game at hand, Pirates could still close the gap to six points should the team manage victories in their outstanding matches.
Ncikazi who was in charge due to the suspension of Jose Riveiro, emphasized the importance of focusing on one game at time.
“Let’s win our next games and I think the race’s still on. We’ll take it one game at time and continue doing that until told otherwise” Ncikazi told SuperSport TV.
Pirates suffered their 4th league loss of the season, conceding goals from former Buccaneer Gabadinho Mhango and own goal by Thalente Mbatha.
“Our offensive surveillance has to improve. We’re working on it but if we keep conceding transitions like today, there’s more to be done” he stated.
“We knew they had big boys who could hurt us on set plays, yet we still conceded. It’s not many things that need fixing but if we take the chances we create, I think we’ll be back on track.”
