Ibrahima Chérif Fofana is on the verge of signing with Swedish third division club AFC Eskilstuna, marking a significant step in his burgeoning career.
The 18-year-old Guinean, nicknamed “Lamasia,” honed his skills at the Atouga Foot academy before making his professional debut with AS Kaloum.
He featured in several matches in the Guinean Ligue 1 last season, showcasing his technical ability and potential.
Fofana was also part of the Syli Olympique squad for the Paris Olympic Games, though he remained an unused substitute during the tournament.
Despite limited playing time, his talent attracted interest from several clubs, including SC Bastia, before Eskilstuna emerged as the frontrunner.
Already involved in pre-season matches with the Swedish club, Fofana appears close to finalising a permanent deal.
The move presents a valuable opportunity for the young midfielder to gain European experience and further his career on the international stage.
Fofana’s progress will be closely monitored as he embarks on this new challenge in Scandinavia.
