FC Barcelona and emerging talent Lamine Yamal have reached an agreement to extend his contract until 2030, significantly enhancing his salary.

The current contract, valid until 2026, includes a release clause of one billion euros. The new agreement will be formalized when Yamal turns 18 on July 13, as reported by Tribal Football.

All parties involved—the club, agent Jorge Mendes, and Yamal’s family—have consented to this extension.

Despite interest from prominent clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and an approach from Real Madrid, Yamal has reaffirmed his commitment to Barcelona.

Yamal, born in Morocco to a mother from Equatorial Guinea, recently stated, “I love this club and I don’t see myself in any other team.”

Agent Jorge Mendes also communicated to Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez that a transfer to their club is not an option.

Yamal, who joined Barcelona’s youth academy, La Masia, at the age of seven, has rapidly progressed through the ranks.

He made his first-team debut on April 29, 2023, becoming the youngest player to appear in a competitive match for Barcelona at 15 years, 9 months, and 16 days old.

Under the guidance of coach Xavi Hernández, Yamal has seen increased playing time, starting in matches against Cádiz and participating in the Champions League against Royal Antwerp.

His performances have also earned him a call-up to the Spanish national team, where he became the youngest player and goalscorer in a match against Georgia.

This contract extension underscores Barcelona’s confidence in Yamal’s potential and their commitment to nurturing homegrown talent.
