Teenage sensation Chamseddine Talbi is expected to earn his maiden call up into the Morocco national team after ditching Belgium.

The 19-year-old, who plies his trade for Club Brugge has been impressive in the ongoing campaign, racking up crucial goals for the club.

Despite featuring for Belgium at youth level, Talbi have made up his mind to represent his father’s country (Morocco) at the international level, replacing his Belgian sports passport with Moroccan at FIFA.

Talbi’s father reportedly played a huge role in his decision to swerve Belgium for Morocco.

The talented attacker is expected to join Morocco camp for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifications in March 2025.

He has racked up seven goals and provided four assists from 32 appearances across competitions for Club Brugge this season.

The forward emerged as the hero when Club Brugge triumphed over Atalanta to secure qualification to the Round 16 of the UEFA Champions League campaign.

The Belgium-born Moroccan scooped the Man of the Match award in the first leg tie held in Belgium last week as his side inflicted a 2-1 win over their opponent.

Putting on another stellar performance, Talbi fired a brace to propel his side to a 3-1 away win in the second leg, confirming his sides’ qualification to the Round 16.
