Teenage football sensation Lamine Yamal has committed his long term future to Spanish heavyweights FC Barcelona.
The talented winger, who has quickly made a name for himself in the football world, stated that he cannot imagine donning any other team’s jersey.
During an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Yamal emphasized that he remains undistracted by speculation regarding his future.
The 17-year-old, whose father is from Morocco and his mother from Equatorial Guinea, believes that a transfer to another club is highly improbable.
“I don’t hear about it. If someone in my camp did receive (an approach), they wouldn’t tell me either.
“First of all because I have a contract and then because I think it is impossible for me to go to another club.”
At present, there are expectations that the European champion will extend his contract until 2030 once he celebrates his 18th birthday this upcoming summer as his current deal is set to run out in 2026.
His dedication to the Catalan club was further highlighted when he said, “I “I don’t think anyone doubts how much I love this club.
“I’ve said it since I made my debut and everything will work out in the end. If both parties want something to happen, it will happen.
“In July (when he turns 18), when the next season starts, everything will be worked out and everyone will see. But right now I’m focused on La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.”
For now, Yamal’s focus lies on contributing to the team’s success in La Liga, the Champions League, and the Copa del Rey.
