Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera applauded Nigerian attacker Victor Osimhen on Monday evening after the striker’s outstanding performance against Rizespor.
Osimhen started for the Turkish Super Lig giants and scored a sensational brace, propelling the side to a hard-fought 2-1 victory at the end of the encounter.
Impressed with the performance of the Nigerian, Muslera used his post-match interview to praise Victor Osimhen.
“After our fans called me over, I wanted to wear Osimhen’s mask too. He puts in so much effort and fights for every ball. He never gives up. We’re all lucky to play alongside a player with such incredible work ethic and dedication,” the Galatasaray captain said after the game.
He continued, “We knew that by supporting him, something special would happen. Today, he delivered the goals that gave us victory. The second half allowed us to find our rhythm and capitalize on set pieces.”
After his two goals on Monday, Victor Osimhen now has 14 goals and four assists in 18 appearances for Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig this season.
He is a strong candidate to win the league’s top scorer award at the end of the campaign.
