Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has been caught driving at 216 km/h (134 mph) in a 100 km/h (62 mph) zone in the Madrid suburbs. The French international, driving a 450 horsepower Audi RS5 4.2 FSI, was caught speeding after Real Madrid’s defeat against Granada on February 3. Benzema risks facing heavy sanctions, including a prison sentence of three to six months, a fine of 5 to 400 euros per day for six to twelve months, community service (31 to 90 days), and the revocation of his driving license unless he pleads guilty. The hearing, initially set for last Tuesday, was postponed.
