Sayed Mawad, former Egypt national team star, affirms that Ahmed Fattouh, the left-back of Zamalek’s first football team, will benefit from renewing his contract with Zamalek to participate in matches and be part of the Egypt national team.
Mawad suggests that Fattouh will need some time for reconciliation with the club’s fans, but matters may smoothly progress following his apology video.
Speaking on the “Box to Box” program broadcasted on ETC satellite channel, Mawad states, “The figures circulating regarding Fattouh’s contract have become common among Egyptian Premier League clubs, especially the big teams. Each player evaluates himself, especially since his contract was close to expiration.”
“Fattouh will be present in the Egypt national team after renewing his contract with Zamalek. I believe Roy Vitoria will rely on him, and he will participate in friendly matches before the AFCON. He is among the international experiences trusted by the Egyptian national team’s coaching staff, working to prepare all players for long periods, especially as he seeks to prepare the team for the World Cup,” Mawad adds.
He continues, “Certainly, there is an accumulation of experiences required for the players, and there must be continuity in participating in matches to prepare the Egypt national team for the World Cup, especially since some players will reach an older age in the coming years.”
Mawad further states, “The Egypt national team’s list, which will increase to 27 players, will provide great comfort for Roy Vitoria in including some players in the squad during the continental tournament. It is highly likely that Ahmed Nabil ‘Koka’ will join the Pharaohs in the tournament after his recent standout performances with Al Ahly. He is better than Mahmoud Hamed, and Koka is still young and has a future with the national team.”
“I believe that Zamalek will bring back Mostafa El-Zenari and Mohamed Sabri. The latter will also benefit from renewing his contract, especially with Ahmed El-Shennawy’s injury and the possibility of excluding him from the Egypt national team’s squad. Sabri may become the substitute goalkeeper. Additionally, there are other goalkeepers in more than one club,” Mawad concludes.
